In a condition called hypertropia one eye is actually slightly higher than the other eye and may cause double vision or partially overlapping images. Putting a prism in one eyeglass lens may bring images together. I have seen this work successfully. Run this by your ophthalmologist or optometrist to determine if this applies to your problem

I'm not sure what "rainbow" vision means. It could be anything from migraine to a cataract. Eye alignment is usually an extra-ocular muscle problem. This should be evaluated by an ophthalmologist
