A member asked:

I started taking prenatal vitamins and the following menses has been a week of light spotting as opposed to my usual flow. what are the implications in the change in menses? how might this affect my ability to conceive?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

As there are no agents in prenatal vitamins that are hormones or act like hormones, I feel that the change in your menses is not from the vitamins but to other factors. Is pregnancy a possibility? If not this may be an anovulatory cycle(no egg). Do you feel OK? No other symptoms? Your gynecologist can advise you best.
