A member asked:

Can you take mucinex daily for allergy rhinitis and congestion? or should you stop taking mucinex after a week? what medication is usually good for allergy rhinitis and congestion?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Mucinex marginally effective. Nasal steroid (flucatisone, mometasone, + others) far more effective. Perhaps plus a nonsedating antihistamine (Zyrtec, Allegra etc, etc). If these OTC meds not effective, see an allergist.
