If the hysterectomy included removal of the cervix, the scar tissue at the upper vaginal closure site can be irritated by sexual activity or infection, and slight bleeding may occur. Oxidized blood may be granular and very dark, producing the condition described. Best is to see your gyn surgeon for an exam. If the cervix was not removed, bleeding from the cervical canal is possible.
