Yes, but: Herpes is most worrisome during 2 periods.A 1st infection during pregnancy could spread to baby and cause miscarriage or major infection. If the genital lesions return during the period before or during delivery, the virus can be acquired by baby & lead to blood poisoning on encephalitis. Even asymptomatic periods may shed virus & infect a vaginally delivered baby.Some chose c/s to avoid the risk.
