A drop in progesterone can occur at 5-8 weeks gestation, which may cause some bleeding, and progesterone may be indicated to prevent miscarriage if the drop is caused by inadequate production by the placenta. The HCG level given would predict a normally growing pregnancy, but if bleeding occurs, see your OB provider to determine if progesterone may be still necessary.
