Most women start perimenopause somewhere between ages 39 and 51. It generally takes around five years from the start of perimenopause for a woman to stop menstruating. If your period has not come for several months it could be due to hormonal fluctuations caused by stress, lack of sleep, weight gain/loss, exercise, etc. Talk to your Gyn Dr for a full workup.
