True, a frenulum tear leaves a shorter frenulum. Tears are usually unintentional and small. People generally just let frenulum tears heal on their own, without any attempts at repairing them. That's because mildly shorter frenula don't seem to affect function. That being said, a person can get a video on an in-person exam with a doctor to check the tear. There are frenula at: lips, tongue, penis.
