A member asked:

My parents are 72 and 76 years old, diabetic, hypertension and one is on blood thinners, is the covid johnson vaccine recommended for them or would you consider any other vaccine more ideal for them?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Current FDA guidance advises patients who use blood thinners to tell this to the person who is giving them the vaccine, but there is no recommendation against use of the J&J vaccine for these patients. Perhaps they should ask their hematologist who prescribes the blood thinner for their preferred vaccine type if there are several options available where they live.
