The "period" may have been related to a pregnancy outside the uterus (ectopic), and a "home test" may not register with low levels of pregnancy hormone (HCG), so obtain a serum HCG test to be certain about pregnancy. If negative, consult your gyn physician if the bleeding continues, or right away if the HCG test is positive.
