Sperm are very susceptible to acidic fluid, cold temperature and time. After an ejaculation, Sperm are only viable in the female reproductive organs if it is during the ovulation period when the acidity in the vagina is lower. Any other time, the higher acidity in the vagina will quickly kill off many sperm. The sperm die, then are dissolved or flushed out.
