A member asked:

I have been having recurring pain and swelling from my coccyx area for about three years. i was wondering would exercise reduce the swelling? and is there a way i can permanently stop the injury from happening again?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Coccyx fractures are frequently difficult to heal, and may even result in "non-union fractures", which when exercising can cause bone on bone inflammatory response, with swelling. Obtain a referral to an orthopedic MD for appropriate imaging and treatment recommendations.
