A member asked:

I took 3 puffs of asthalin one after another without waiting. is there any chance of negative side effects? i also used the same inhalor (2 puffs) about 6 hours prior. what should i do? i'm getting extremely anxious?

I expect you would get anxious. This drug mimics adrenalin, the natural flee or fight hormone created by stress. When you overdose it the drug becomes less effective & the effects on your nervous system/heart rate/anxiety/blood pressure increase. Just stop for now. If you have breathing problems go get seen. The side effects should fade within 6 hrs.

Avoiding bronchoconstriction and hypoxemia is one of the goals of your asthma action plan. If you need the inhaler to relieve specific symptoms including wheezing, please follow your asthma plan as outlined by your PCP or Pulmonologist. Add a controller medication to control symptoms after evaluation and discussion with your PCP.
