We just purchased a house near a 4 lane busy road (behind our house) now i think i want to sell. concerned about air pollution. we have a 18 month old and i plan to live here for many years. how much higher is our chance of increasing illness?

This is not a clear issue. The particulate (pollutant) content of the air is often worse inside a home during many seasons than anywhere outside. Such particulates aggravate lung tissue & can foster infection. Is there wind to dissipate any pollutants ? Does the traffic move fast or almost stopped, adding to pollution. You might invest in a air quality study before making any big decision.
