A member asked:

Husband testosterone results 13.5 mnol/l. ref range from lab is: (10.0 - 35.0) 2nd test result was 10.5 nmol/l. has he got the testosterone of an 80 year old man? the range is so wide. worried about tumour or testicular cancer because of low reading?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Low testosterone reading is not an indication of tumor. All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, the readings are in the normal range. Why were the tests done? Wish you good health!
