Had iud placed 2 days ago. checked for the strings and noticed that the strings are very long. almost 2 inches long. have some cramping and bleeding. i had an entire iud fall out last month as well after one week. are strings supposed to be this long?

It depends upon how long the MD who inserted the IUD cut the strings. If you feel something hard at the end of the strings by the cervix contact the MD who placed the IUD and consider yourself sexually unprotected from pregnancy until the MD has examined the IUD.
