You did not state if you had had any bowel movement in the previous 7 days. If you was constipated, it is not uncommon to have rectal bleeding after taking laxative because you are at risk for hemorrhoid. If you are not constipated and you have no history of hemorrhoid, you need to have at least sigmoidoscopy done for ruling out lesion in the descending colon.
