Some medications may be passed into breast milk, but usually not in sufficient quantities to create adverse consequences for your child. Check with your OB provider about his/her specific advice about "stresstabs" or other medications while nursing.

Most commonly, prenatal vitamins are recommended for the breastfeeding mother to assure good nutrition. In some countries, the diet of the breastfeeding mother is enriched to optimize nutrition to the baby. If prenatal vitamins are unavailable to you, be sure to attend to your diet. It may be reassuring to add a multivitamin, but not in place of a good diet with very simple ingredients
