Had phlegmon in armpit with lump. took keflex and developed a cordlike vein in the armpit. now im told heat, baby aspirin, and doxycycline until ultrasound. is phlebitis common in axillary due to abscess? any other ways to help it improve?

It is frequent. Continue your treatment as recommended. If it swells up again, or becomes red and tender, you may need to go to the Doctor for surgical Drainage.
