A member asked:

Can smoking cause low estrogen or hormonal imbalance in young women?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Of course there's nothing good about smoking. It has been shown to affect hormone levels such as lower estrogen levels, shorten menstrual cycles and cause more painful cramps then nonsmokers experience and be less fertile. Smoking.is harmful to many other body functions and tissues. I always tell the patient that they will wrinkle badly as they go on smoking. That gets most of them to stop!!
