A member asked:

My recent ultrasound results show free fluid in posterior cup-de-sac and tissue density with vascularity noted. my doctor has scheduled an mri. i also have swollen lymph nodes in my groin area. what do these results mean? i am so worried?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Fluid in the cul-de-sac collects there from ruptured ovarian cyst as well as from pelvic infections, ruptured ectopic pregnancy, but the presence of enlarged inguinal lymph nodes may be from pelvic inflammatory disease or malignancy. Your gynecologist will review the upcoming MRI with the radiologist and then advise you.
