Amoxicillin-clavulanate (Ranclav and other brands) can cause diarrhea but usually not nausea. Try taking it with food. If the problem continues, contact the doctor or clinic where it was prescribed to discuss other treatment options.

Both the condition being treated and the antibiotic can cause or contribute to your symptoms. Antibiotics can cause diarrhea, as high as 1 out of 3 patients for the antibiotic you are talking , less nausea 2-3% of patients. Talk to your prescribing doc in case you are unable to keep the antibiotic down.
