Sterilized babys bottles in stainless steel pot with aluminum foil because i lost the lid. is this safe, the bottom of the foil turns a funky color ? i searched online that its not and could leach but it wasnt a health accredited website?

Sterilized ??? The practice was abandoned decades ago in the USA when simple cleaning with soap & water like other dishware/utensils was found adequate. A bottle brush to handle any retained milk is the only extra effort needed. If you are concerned about the rinse I would just re=do it with soapy water at regular dish cleaning temperature.
