More details are needed to answer this question. A fib tends to results from several possible reasons. One is an enlarged left atrium which can be a result of many things such as aortic regurgitation.

Aneurysm of the thoracic portion of the aorta often causes aortic regurgitation. As has been mentioned by Dr.R, aortic regurgitation can lead to the development of atrial fibrillation.
