Local reactions to immunizations occur and may include local swelling less than two inches in diameter, pain at the injection site and slight redness. Apply a cool compress, and if there is an increase in pain, redness in swelling, difficulty breathing or swallowing, please see the Emergency department. If the area is very red, boggy or draining pus, please notify your doctor.
