Regarding Mirena IUD's, bleeding can indicate relocation of the IUD into the cervical canal, causing bleeding, and diminishing the contraceptive effectiveness of the IUD. Sexual relations can cause irritation of the already inflamed cervix leading to "light bleeding", so see your gyn provider for an exam and further testing (like ultrasound) or treatment (cryo application to cervix).
