A member asked:

Is it safe to have your heart rate go down to low 40s and then sky rocket to 90 or higher? i am 31 weeks pregnant and concerned about this. i also have palpitations and tachycardia. what can i do other than increasing my salt in take?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

If you are not having shortness of breath, fainting, lightheadedness, it is probably not serious. Palpitations and tachycardia mean a lot of different things. If you are concerned, your doctor can order a Holter monitor to see what is really going on. Do not increase your salt intake as this has nothing to do with your symptoms.
