What is the difference between a pet scan and a cat scan when it comes to looking for tumors/cancer? would they give both to a patient during/after after cancer treatment?

CAT scan looks at structural anatomy, but PET looks at metabolic activity. The two are complementary, as covers the bases far more thoroughly and reveal more abnormal areas. This has become important in cancer detection.
