At "41 weeks" (confirmed by ultrasound early 1st trimester) and age "38", the risks of a post-term pregnancy statistically suggest attempted induction of labor, and if un-successful, a C/S. The inherent risks include sudden fetal compromise, and prolonging delivery beyond 41 weeks is now considered unsafe. Your physician probably wants you prepared if induction fails, for a C/S.
