Cholesterol is a fatty/waxy substance that is found in your blood stream. It is necessary for building cells. At high levels, it can damage your blood vessels by causing plaques. It can be high due to too much fat and cholesterol in your diet, or because of a genetic predisposition. Having High Cholesterol does not mean you have high blood pressure.

Not necessarily. However they are both major risk factors that need education, dietary and other means to control and thereby avoid long term consequences. Please arrange to have an educational session with your physician to lead to a better understanding risk modification and prevention. Once educated, understand and follow the guidelines as well as you can.
