I am unable to lay on my left side. if i do, within 45 minutes an agonizing pain develops (10+) in the area of my left lung. i struggle to turn over to my right side, after which the pain gradually dissipates over a period of about 15 minutes?

Time to see doc. Your pain suggests a radicular source or a pinched nerve at the level of the thoracic spine with other possibilities such as lung/ pleura, heart/pericardium still to be ruled out. The positional feature is critical and a focused physical exam will be needed.
