Seborrheic derm: Seborrhea can refer to dandruff or to oily skin. Both of these skin conditions are considered chronic. There are ways to control both. Seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff) can be helped with dandruff shampoos and topical medications so that the rash is kept under control. Oily skin can be improved with topical medications like tretinoin or other retinoinds or if severe may be treated with accutane.

SeborrheicDermatitis: Dandruff, or seborrheic dermatitis is not usually treated with an internal medicine. Topically it can be treated with both an anti fungal shampoo such as ketoconazole and a topical steroid lotion. It could be treated with internal ketoconazole pills but these have potential side effects and .Liver function studies would need to be monitored with blood tests.
