Irregular period: Irregular periods following birth is very common. It reflects your body's efforts to recalibrate hormones back to normal levels. It can take up to 6 months or more if you are breastfeeding to resume normal cycles. MicroOval contains progestin which may actually cause you to cease having periods after taking it more than 4-6 months. In the meantime, breakthrough bleeding is common.
