Not likely: I really need more information but assuming the wound is protected from dirty hands picking at it two months i would be concerned about it. If it has been open to the air itneeds some kind of dressing either way seeyour doctor.

Unusual: Children heal very well and so a nonhealing wound poses an unusual situation as doctor said. Is there any drainage from the site, if not, it may actually be healed. Is it red, peeling, itchy? It may be fungus. Does it keep reopening, the child may be repeatedly causing trauma to it. 2 months is a long time for something not to heal, get to a wound specialist and have this looked at.
