A member asked:

I started taking birth control pills on the 1st day of period, but i missed the day 2&3, took 2 pills on day 4. i've been continuing taking the pill and i'm at day 21 now. should i take the pill that i have missed before proceeding to inactive pills?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

BCP ?'s: Today's hormone content for oral bcp's is lower and safer, but therefore punctuality is important. If you started the active pills on the first day of menses, skipping a couple days early on may prolong bleeding from your period, but at this point, it is not necessary to take the missing active pills. Use other birth control until your next period, and start a new pack.
