UTI/preterm labor ?: Urinary tract infections which progress to generalized sepsis can cause uterine irritability and contractions. If recognized , this can be abbreviated by medication to prevent progression to "pre-term labor". Symptoms of urinary tract infection (frequency, burning, painful urination, flank pain) should be addressed early with your OB physician.
