A member asked:

I took an hiv quick test 98 days after being exposed, and another one 144 days after being exposed, and they're both negative. am i safe?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Very likely negative: With 2 consecutive antigen (“quick”) tests negative, very very likely you are negative (~96-98% surety). If you want to be almost absolutely certain, have your doctor order a 4th generation HIV assay. If that’s negative, your negative (as much as anything in medicine can be absolutely certain)
