Hidradenitis?: Two common possibilities are 1) bacterial abscesses due to staph or strep, often (in this part of the body) including intestinal bacteria like E. coli; and 2) hidradenitis suppurative, which mimics infectious abscesses but is actually a somewhat mysterious condition, perhaps due to auto-immunity. He should see a doctor, ideally an infectious diseases specialist or dermatologist.
