A member asked:

Currently, i am living abroad and taking lidamine, and also a combination of trimebutine, simethicone, alpha d-galactosidase for several months (~6-9). i take them before each meal to manage ibs. are both okay to take for long term use?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

IBS meds: Lidamine is a relatively new antidiarrheal medication. Trimebutine is not FDA approved. Consequently you'll have difficulty having most physicians here sanctioning their long-term use. You'll have to rely on your pharmacist and gastroenterologist for more information regarding efficacy &long-term use. It may be better to take alpha D galactosidase& simethicone specifically for certain gassy foods
