Yes: IBS can go into remission, meaning long periods without activity. There can be a change in lifestlye, including eating habits, exercise, sleep, relaxation. Sometimes there is a change in life situation, job, relationship, responsibilities. Also changes in mental, emotional and behavioral health will affect IBS.
