Hello. we haven't been tested for hiv. my wife has been having severe premenstrual pain and vomiting when she has her period. i'm a little concerned. i noticed changes in menstrual cycle or severe pms is a symptom of hiv. should i be concerned of hiv?

Menses: This severity of premenstrual and menstural symptoms warrants a GYN eval to R/O underlying pathology. It does not mean that she has HIV.

Menstrual pain/n&v ?: Severe menstrual pain with nausea and vomiting may be due to endometriosis. If conditions exist where HIV is possible (anal sex, male sex with both males and females) get tested. Consult with a gyn physician, as endometriosis is treatable with oral bcp's: although it is not cured, fertility can be preserved via oral contraception.
