A member asked:

I have three anal fissures in the 'atypical' region. i've had them on and off for years and i googled it and it says i could have a scary condition and now i'm freaked out. i thought i have them because i don't eat enough fiber or water?

Anal fissure: At age 21, this is unlikely to indicate anything "scary". Anal fissures are common and usually do not indicate anything serious, regardless of occurring in an "atypical region". (I don't know what that means.) However, to be safe you should see a doctor (if not already in care) or ask for referral to a proctologist or other specialist. Good luck.
