Numbness: Left rib cage numbness is a sign if nerve dysfunction. If it's a tiny patch, I doubt a serious cause. If it's a large patch of numbness it could be a demyelination process as seen in multiple sclerosis. If this doesn't resolve or other areas develop numbness, I recommend consulting a neurologist for evaluation and advice.
