Masturbation: Masturbation can cause slight irritation of the penis, but is otherwise benign in healthy males. Make sure your hands are clean and that you are in a safe location (not driving). Do not masturbate in a public area as this can be prosecuted. Avoid spilling semen on common surfaces that others will be in contact with as this can spread disease.

Masturbation: Positive side effect of masturbation is desired healthy relief of pent up sexual feelings. Negative side effects of masurbation may include addiction & compulsion to repeat time & time again rather than other more productive pursuits. Excessive masturbation, in males, can result in sore penis & burning sensation when urinating, sore clitoris & also burning on urination in females.

Few, if any: If masturbation involves "sex toys" they need to be clean to avoid infection and should;never go from the rectum to the vagina without cleaning. Otherwise, "warts will not grow on one's hands" as that is a myth.

Nothing specific: To the extent someone does this to excess it can take up time better spent on developing a more productive relationships with others. Most of the "bad effects" you hear about are just myths promoted by those who find the practice disgusting.
