A member asked:

Can i start a new contraception pills pack 4 days later than the usual day? after which day will i be covered?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

BCP ?'s: If you have finished an old prescribed pack using the placebo pills in the last week of use, waiting "four days" after the placebo interval of seven days may allow ovulation to occur, and pregnancy is possible even with continued use of the active pills in the new pack. You will not be covered until your next period, so use barrier contraception (diaphragm, condom's, spermicides) until then.
