A member asked:

Ive noticed that my stool is mixed in shape each time. normal color but some pieces are totally round and cylindrical but the other parts are flat and wide (varying lengths). no pain. no blood. is this due to diet? stool is soft. do i need fiber?

Input?: The gastrointestinal tract takes in food, and liquids and removes nutrients and water while it passes through the stomach/intestines. Anything unusable or foreign is typically excreted in stool. If you are eating a diet high in water and fiber (fresh vegetables, fruit and whole grains) and low in intestine clogging saturated fats (grease), you can expect normal stools. Look at your diet recently.
