A member asked:

If ive had a bilateral salpingectomy and are on birth control pills, could i still get pregnant when i ovulate?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pregnancy ?'s: If the pathology report identified removal of both Fallopian tubes, and active bcp's have not been missed or started "late" in a cycle, it is technically "possible" for pregnancy, but highly unlikely. Ovulation does not occur when on punctually taken combination oral bcp's, but can occur on progesterone only bcps. Obtain a serum HCG test for proof of possible pregnancy.
