Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. What you described suggests primary oral herpes infection. It is usually self limited. If he is not getting better in a day or two, it would be prudent to see a doctor. Wish you and your son good health!
