A member asked:

My periods are usually 30 days but this month of april i was waiting and it started in a 36 day span, when will i ovulate? i started april 10, 2013

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Varies with cycle: You normally ovulate 14 days before your period, so day 16 with a 30 day cycle and day 22 with a 36 day cycle. Predicting ovulation ahead of time is difficult because you don't know how long a particular cycle will be. Ovulation predictor kits available at the drug store are expensive and not always reliable. Plot your daily "basal body temperature" and watch for a slight temperature rise.
