I get anxiety in the evenings. i sometimes can control my symptoms sometimes i cant, it can last 2-3hours. i was given sertraline50mg but i stopped taking it. can i take it wenever i get anxiety instead of taking it everyday even if i have no anxiety?

No !: Sertraline is not an "as needed" medication. It won't work unless you build up your blood levels over time.

ANXIETY: It is important to find correct medication from your Psychiatrist. Medication alone does not teach coping. Psychotherapy with a Clinical Psychologist can help you find ways to handle stress that will help your medications work better. If you are uncomfortable with your Psychiatrist you can obtain a second opinion from another Dr.
